BEHAVIORS OF SAFE BIKE RIDING AMONG THE RIDERS OF UNDERGRADUATE, NAKHONRATCHASIMA COLLEGE

Abstract

This descriptive research aimed to study, the level of knowledges of traffic law according to the land traffic act, the level for behaviors of safe bike riding, and the relationship between knowledge about traffic low and behaviors of safe bike riding among students, Nakhonratchasima College. The samples were 101 of undergraduate students who riding a bike, Nakhonratchasima College. The research instruments were questionnaires. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Pearson’s product moment correlation. The results of the study showed that: The samples were the knowledge about traffic rule according to the land traffic act score at a moderate level, 75.25 percent. The overall of the safety behaviors for bike riding of the research samples were at the high and highest level, the driver's license at the highest level ( = 4.56, S.D.=.46), the don't drive drunk at the highest level ( =4.52, S.D.=.32), the wearing a helmet at a high level ( =4.10, S.D.=.69), the fast riding as required by law was a high level ( =4.02, S.D.=.55), and bike safety ( = 4.08, S.D.=.75). There was no correlation between knowledge of traffic rules and behaviors of safe bike riding among undergraduate students, Nakhonratchasima College, this may be due to the factor of distance traveled to college and ignorance for the severity of the accident hazard.
