The Significance of Mega Power Plant for National Security

Abstract

The objective of this research was to suggest the importance of the
large power plant towards the national security which was the part of the
study of the National Defence College Course 2016. It was found that there
was a lot of the electricity demand in Thailand in the present. Meanwhile,
the trend of such demand was more increasing rapidly according to the
country’s economic growth also. Therefore, the government has established
the policy in creating stability of the power plant respectively. This was
including the promotion of renewable energy and supporting the large power
plant. However, some kind of the renewable energy was still very expensive
and not stable. If a large proportion of applying power plant happened,
this action caused some weak point. Due to the plan of generating good
electricity should come from basic energy first and add with the renewable
energy this will emit less greenhouse gas effect than in the past.
Therefore, the large power plant paid the very important role for the
national security in the energy aspect continuously and was the business
which was proper to be further seriously supported from the public sector by
integrating into one part of the national strategy continuously and seriously
also.
