Lessons and solutions for the southern border provinces

Abstract

The unrest problem within the southern border provinces is considered as one of the most important national security issues. There are many urgent government policies that have been passed to the current government, however, it is a delicate problem. These still complexities, chronic while as violence continues until the present thus difficulty and not easily to end soon. From the lessons and guidelines of solving problems development based on situation in the past, Thailand governments has been concerned with the solutions in 3 levels as; National Agenda Formulation of Strategies, Operation Plan, and Military and resource transmission, in order to control the situation and end the problem as soon as possible. The cause of unsuccessful problem solving would be analyzed in to two main causes as “whether the policy of each government is correct?” and “How to solve the unrest in the southern border provinces”. which are mostly questions by locals and people outside the area. Unfortunately, the approach to solving the problem are too varieties and that is cannot be summaries and find a suitable settlement.

               Here, the author can summarize as a policy suggestion to solve the problems based on the unrest in the southern border provinces peacefully and sustainably in 5 ways as 1) The government must have stability effective and have a good understanding of how to manage conflict resolution correctly 2) Policy must be adjusted appropriately and correctly according to the problems by using “social aspects” as a main part in order to notify people that is as a real national agenda. 3) The use of military and security forces must be used properly with the missions, appropriate strength, and in accordance with dogmas and opponents. 4) The budget must be spent in the form Plan/Project that is in line with the policy. These must have to be weighed and rated the level of urgent, and 5) Focus on peace dialogue by organizing the structure, appropriate conversation, and adjust the plan to support the conversation according to the principles.
