Abstract

In this research on infrastructure of 5G technology development in Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), the researcher has studied, revised and analyzed problems and their solutions by using data obtained from questionnaires and in-depth interviews from experts. Guidelines are presented on how to develop 5G technology in EECin order to reach the national’s both short-term and long-term strategy. Operational checks in accordance with EEC’s strategy and 5G application improvement plan are performed as well.

The researcher proposes strategies to drive 5G and itsuse case application in EEC area. Intelligent service and production systems called ‘sandbox’ and ‘5G Industrial Data Platform’ are also suggested. The objective is to store and analyze data from industrial factory through 5G system, apply smart service and production systemto support Industry 4.0 and the country’s digital economy’s ecosystem. Also to improve production capability and service on 5G technology for transportation, medicine, agriculture and tourism section in order to improve competitiveness and add economic value for EEC.

The researcher proposes two factors: driven and reinforcing factor. Driven factor contains four important aspects: fundamental infrastructuredevelopment policy, expert and technological transferprovision, spatial development and technological and knowledge development. Four important reinforcing factors are law and order, fundamental structure and facility, human capital development and foreign ally partnership development. Lastly, the researcher proposes practitioner levels in order to increase concrete potential when taking an advantage of an opportunity: technical suggestion about Information Security and Cybersecurity together with 5G Sandbox and Platform.
