Abstract

This article aims to present Creative Cities Network of Gastronomy of Phetchaburi Province according to UNESCO criteria.

Phetchaburi Province is located in a geographically diverse landscape with mountains, seas and lowlands suitable for agriculture. Therefore, there are various raw materials for cooking. It is also known as the city of the three flavors, namely
the salty flavor from the best sea salt producer in Thailand, the sweet taste of jaggery with low sweetness index and extraordinary sweet taste that is unique to this region, and sour taste from the key lime, which is considered a geographical indication (GI) product. It has a round shape, thin skin, lots of water, sour and fragrant taste. Both salt, sugar and lime are the main ingredients of Phetchaburi's famous and unique cooking.

Application to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network is made through
a mechanism of participation from all sectors. It starts with an analysis of the context, readiness and potential of the city, allowing stakeholders at different levels of
the province to participate in expressing their opinions, organizing activities to support creative cities. There are public relations to create awareness and understanding among people in the province, plus a learning exchange with cities selected as UNESCO Creative Cities Network. On November 4, 2021, Phetchaburi is one of 49 cities around the world that have been selected by UNESCO to join the Creative Cities Network. Being selected as a Creative City brings pride to Phetchaburi people, which has a positive effect on building the economy of the province and the nation as a whole.
