The development of training curriculum to enhance the 21th century learning skills for bachelor of science in technical education students

Abstract

          This purposes of research were to develop the training curriculum to enhance the 21th century and evaluate the effectiveness of the training curriculum to enhance the 21th century learning skills for bachelor of science in technical education students. The samples employed in the study were 15 third year students in second semester of the academic year 2018 which were selected by purposive sampling. The research instruments were 1) the training curriculum to enhance the 21th century learning skills 2) the 21th century learning skills cognitive test 3) assessment form concerning the 21th century learning skills and 3) the student satisfaction survey toward the training curriculum.  The data were analyzed by means, standard deviation, a dependent t-test and a content analysis. The findings of the research revealed that the development of training curriculum to enhance the 21th century learning skills and evaluation of the training curriculum were highly suitable and effective. The curriculum contained 7 key elements, which consisted of 1) rationale principles, 2) curriculum objectives, 3) curriculum structures, 4) content structures, 5) training process, 6) duration of the training, and 7) training measurement and evaluation. The effectiveness evaluation of the training curriculum showed that 1) the post - test mean score of knowledge of in the 21th century  learning skills was significantly higher than the pretest at 0.05 levels,  2) the 21th century learning skills was at a very good level, and 3) the satisfaction of students towards training curriculum was at a highest level.
