Enhancing good citizenship awareness for graduate students of Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi

Abstract

          The objectives of this research are to study 1) good citizenship behavior, 2) factors influencing good citizenship behavior, and 3) guidelines for enhancing good citizenship awareness for students of Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi, using the method of Mixed Method Research. The data were collected from 375 samples and 18 key informants with the use of statistics comprised of T-test, one-way analysis of variance, multiple comparisons, correlation coefficient Pearson's correlation coefficient, multiple linear regression, stepwise selection, and qualitative analysis.


          The research results showed that students had good citizenship behavior overall at high level. In each aspect, students were found to have the highest respect for equality of citizens. That is, the different biosocial characteristics of students, including gender, faculty, academic achievement and academic achievement resulted in difference overall good citizenship behavior at statistical significance level of 0.05. Predictive variable of psychological attributes, psychological states and the situation can predict the good citizenship behavior in general by 77%. The 3 important predictive factors were attitude, university teaching and learning, and internal locus of control. The guidelines for enhancing good citizenship awareness include 1) encouraging students to comply with university rules and regulations, 2) promoting and supporting students to undertake activities inside and outside of the university and 3) learning management to strengthen citizenship through enhancing knowledge and understanding, promoting a positive attitude, encouraging practical implementation, encouraging daily application and evaluating behavior.
