Abstract

The objectives of this research were (1) to study the opinions of teachers who used electronic media in teaching English, science, and mathematics courses; (2) to study the interest in learning English, science, and mathematics of students who learned from the electronic media; and (3) to compare learning achievements in English, science, and mathematics of students who learned from the electronic media. The research sample consisted of 96 English, science, and mathematics teachers and 318 Mathayom Suksa 3 students from schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission. Research instruments were electronic media in teaching English, science, and mathematics; a questionnaire; and a learning achievement test. Data were analyzed using the percentage, mean, standard deviation, t – test, and content analysis. The research results revealed that (1) teachers who used electronic media in teaching English, science and mathematics had opinions that quality of the electronic media was at the high level in all aspects including contents, activities, media presentation, technical design, program and screen design, and benefits of the media for both the teachers and learners; (2) students who learned from the electronic media were interested in learning English, science and mathematics at the high level; and (3) the post-learning achievement scores of students who learned from the electronic media were significantly higher than their pre-learning counterpart scores at the .05 level.
