Central Bank Digital Currency is a new issue that over 90% of central banks around the world are interested in. The objective of this research paper aimed to study factors influencing the adoption of Central Bank Digital Currency in Thailand (Digital Baht) and develop the recommendation for successful implementation that meets the individual and social adoption. The study uses the Diffusion of Innovation theory as a main theoretical background and integrates with other factors. This study employs a qualitative based approach. Data was collected from in-dept interview with 13 key informants. The findings indicate that relative advantage, compatibility, network externalities, personal innovativeness, and trust are positive factors to the adoption of Digital Baht. While transaction cost, cyber security, and digital literacy are negative factors to the adoption of Digital Baht. For the policy recommendations related to Digital Baht in Thailand, it is suggested that the broad network externality, financial and digital literacy, and cyber security should be enhanced. The study, therefore, also proposes government’s support for the sustainability of the public adoption.
