บทคัดย่อ
บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อทบทวนวรรณกรรมเพื่อตรวจสอบและสังเคราะห์แนวคิดและงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชน (CBT) เพื่อนำเสนอให้เห็นถึงว่าการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชนเป็นโอกาสหรืออุปสรรคต่อการพัฒนาการท่องเที่ยวแบบยั่งยืน ในบทความจะประกอบด้วย แนวคิดเกี่ยวกับการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชน สถานการณ์การท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชนในประเทศไทย โอกาสของการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชน ความท้าทายและอุปสรรคของการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชน และทิศทางการพัฒนาการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชนแบบยั่งยืน เพื่อให้คนในชุมชนและผู้กำหนดนโยบายได้ตระหนักถึงความเหมาะสมในการพัฒนาชุมชนเพื่อการท่องเที่ยวให้สอดคล้องกับสถานการณ์ความเปลี่ยนแปลง โดยเฉพาะประเด็นที่จะก่อให้เกิดผลกระทบต่อชุมชนมากกว่าผลประโยชน์ที่ชุมชนจะได้รับ ซึ่งหากไม่มีการทบทวนการพัฒนาอาจจะทำให้ชุมชนสูญเสียความเป็นตัวตนที่แท้จริง การทำลายทรัพยากรทางการท่องเที่ยว ขนบธรรมเนียมและประเพณีอันดีงามของชุมชนอย่างต่อเนื่อง ตลอดจนการย้ายถิ่นฐานของคนในชุมชนดั้งเดิมออกจากชุมชน พร้อมทั้งเสนอทิศทางการพัฒนาในการปรับตัวและเตรียมความพร้อมกระแสการเปลี่ยนของชุมชนที่สามารถสืบทอดบนพื้นฐานของการพัฒนาแบบยั่งยืนได้อย่างแท้จริง
