The effects of using instructional package in science to promote EF brain booster skills for early childhood education students in public schools in Muang district Chachoengsao province

Abstract

           This research has two main objectives: 1) to develop an instructional package in science to promote EF brain booster skills for early childhood education students in public schools in Muang district Chachoengsao province; and 2) to study the outcomes of using an instructional package in science to promote EF brain booster skills for early childhood education students in public schools in Muang district Chachoengsao province. The research is divided into two phases: Phase 1 involves developing an instructional package in science, and Phase 2 focuses on studying the outcomes of its implementation. The research involved a sample group of 30 second-grade students from government-affiliated schools in the Mueang district of Chachoengsao province. The tools used for the research included EF skills assessment forms and an instructional package in science to promote EF brain booster skills for early childhood education students. Statistical analysis included measures such as mean, standard deviation, and t-tests. The key findings of the research are as follows: 1. An instructional package in science to promote EF brain booster skills for early childhood education students in public schools in Muang district Chachoengsao province, consists of 9 learning domains, namely: 1) Colorful rice 2) Delicious scrambled eggs 3) Cool sweet ice cream 4) Trees around us 5) Colorful leaves 6) Vegetables and fruits for us 7) Stones and foam balls 8) Tools for little ones, and 9) Fun building blocks with each session lasting 40 minutes. 2. An instructional package in science to promote EF brain booster skills for early childhood education students in public schools in Muang district Chachoengsao province, has an efficiency score of 86.07/96.00, meeting the criteria of 80/80.  3. The results of the using an instructional package in science to promote EF brain booster skills for early childhood education students in public schools in Muang district Chachoengsao province set show that students in the experimental group scored higher in EF skills in the post-test compared to the pre-test.
