THE LIMITATION OF A LECTURER SPECIFICATION UNDER STANDARDS CRITERIA FOR A BACHELOR'S DEGREE CURRICULUM 2565 B.E. TO GENERATE AVIATION GRADUATES COMPLIANT WITH OCCUPATIONAL STANDARDS

Abstract

The lecturer specification by The Commission on Higher Education Standards Re: Standards Criteria for a Bachelor’s Degree Curriculum 2565 B.E.  include qualification, academic rank, academic work, experience and others might be the limitation to produce aviation graduates according to occupational standards in aviation by Thailand Professional Qualification Institute (Public Organization). This article intended to study and analyze relevant concerns in order to suggest a guideline to determine the specification of aviation lecturer for producing aviation graduates with knowledges, skills and characteristics in 21st Century, according to occupational standards to enter the aviation industry labor market effectively when graduating. The study's findings revealed that qualifications should consider accepting work experience in the aviation industry or aviation teaching at least 4 years instead of a master's degree and 8 years instead of a doctor's degree, academic rank should consider being an advantage of qualification, academic work should be flexible to be completed later within the specified time frame and English skills should be accepted TOEIC listening and reading scores or others that are standard, widely accepted and acceptable in the aviation industry only.
