Abstract
The purpose of this article is to study China's policies and measures to promote the spread of Chinese language and Chinese culture after the founding of new China, and the measures to promote the establishment of Confucius institutes in Thailand, as well as the policies and measures of China to manage Confucius institutes. The main research approach is to refer to previous master's and doctoral theses and the official website of Confucius institutes. The results show that after the founding of the People's Republic of China, China's economy has developed rapidly and its status in the world has been steadily improved. That is when China starts to think more seriously about spreading its language and culture abroad. Therefore, the Chinese government has formulated various policies and measures, with Confucius institutes as the most representative institutions for spreading Chinese language and culture. Moreover, Thailand, with the largest ethnic Chinese population, has become the most successful country in the development of Chinese language. The vigorous development of Confucius institutes in Thailand is due to the strong support of the governments of China and Thailand. In the future, China and Thailand will strengthen their cooperation to promote the development of Chinese language in Thailand.
