Goal Setting to Achievement According to Bodhisattavacariya

Abstract
Setting goals is essential to a successful person's life. Having a role model will make it possible to achieve person’s goals effectively. The objectives of the dissertation entitled Goal setting to Achievement According to Bodhisattavacariya were as follows: 1) to study success goal setting 2) to study success goal setting according to Bodhisattva Path 3) to integrate success goal setting with Bodhisattavacariya. This is a qualitative research using data from related documents and research and an in-depth interview with 5 monks and 7 lay experts. By using this information, researcher then analyzes and synthesizes success goal setting model with Bodhisattavacariya and presents the work with a qualitative and integrated descriptive method. The results of the research showed that 1) Setting goals for success is essential in life. starting with imagination goal setting, foresight, planning initiatives, action and overcome obstacles by sticking to goals. 2) Setting goals according to Bodhisattavacariya is a goal setting using wisdom and compassion as the basis for setting goals. The composition of the goal achievement according to Bodhisattavacariya is effortful, knowledgeable, determined and generous. 3) After integrating goal-setting for success with the Bodhisattavacariya, the goal-setting principle that consists of wisdom, determination and effort. This can be applied in a person's daily life. 4) The IME Model represents an integrating success goals with Bodhisattvacariya, where I = Intelligence in setting goal , M = Mindful with the goal and E = Effort in reaching the goal. Therefore, when using the IME Model in goal setting will enable a person to be able to achieve good goals which will be beneficial for both oneself and the public.
