S̄ạnghādhikāra : Public Welfare

Abstract

This academic article named “Sạnghāṭhikār: Public Welfare” found that the Buddhist temple registered with the National Buddhism Office considered to be a complete legal temple and the abbot has the duty to maintain the temple, organize the temple maintenance, management, and religious treasures for the best benefits. The abbot must continuously manage the affairs of the temple to have a correct and orderly progress and making the temple as the center of various Buddhist activities for Buddhists and others. The development is divided into 6 categories, namely: on administration, ecclesiastical education, public supporting education, propagation, constructions and reparation and social welfares. All of these affairs aim at providing the assistance for public voluntariness of both individual and Sangha, covering 4 areas: welfare, support, development, integration.
