The GUIDELINE OF THE ARTS AND CULTURE CONSERVATION IN THE NEW NORMAL AGE: A CASE STUDY OF BAN NONG UENG COMMUNITY, CHIANGMAI SUD-DISTRICT, PHOCHAI DISTRICT, ROIET PROVINCE

Abstract

This research has three objectives; (1) to study the concept and theory of the art and culture conservation in Thai society, (2) to study the contexts and the problem conditions of the arts and culture conservation in the community, and (3) to present the guideline of the arts and culture conservation in New Normal Age. This is a qualitative research by fieldwork and data information and an in-depth interview with experts in the target area, and to present it in a descriptive form.

          The concept and theory of the conservation of arts and culture in Thai society found that the conservation of good traditions in various ways promotes the conservation of arts and culture in local society and the nation. Most of them are the study the conservative participation by focusing on cultivating the value in the modern-day community and having the concept of setting guidelines for the conservation which has the importance of proper physical factors, e.g., the conservation of identity and value areas of community, the control of appropriate development, and the improvement and restoration of the deteriorated area to restore and to create consciousness for natural heritage conservation. The contexts and problem conditions of the arts and culture conservation in the community found that the Nong Ueng community, Chiangmai, Phochai Roiet Province is the administrative area of Chiang Mai Municipality. It has the conservation of the arts, culture, and local tradition, it also has local wisdom as a benefit to the public rather than the individual, to realize the values of knowledge and ability which accumulated in varieties, and appropriate to the way of life and beautiful arts of ancestral wisdom. It is also used the idea to improve the life’s way of people in the community based on the traditional value that emphasizes simple self-reliance.   The way of the arts and culture conservation of the community in the New Normal Age found that the conservation of the cultural arts in the new modern are; 1) The conservation of the cultural arts by cultivating conscience in people in the community, it should be done to make people love and have faith in what they hold, it is to promote for all groups of people to see the value, and to help together for conservation and inheritance of the culture of their homeland and local.         2) The realization of the essential value and importance of local arts and culture. Conservation is the cultivation of conscience for local people to realize the essential value and the importance of local wisdom in the community that promotes and supports the activity based on traditions and cultures. The cultivation of the conscience of that local people must be joined to preserve the identity of the local area.          3) The support of activities setting accordance with traditions and cultures, to encourage activities by promoting and supporting to create a network of cultural arts heritage and development of local wisdom in communities, to set the cultural activities and local wisdom continuously, and the strengthen the local scholars. 4) The restoration of lost arts and culture is to select the local wisdom which has disappeared to make it valuable and important for local living. It is especially the basis of ethics, morals, and values. And it is also the systematic knowledge collection process, the creation of the conservative network, and the inheriting the community traditions from all government and private organizations.
