Guideline of Integrated Buddhist Administration of Community Police Volunteers at Banphaeo District. Samut Sakhon Province

Abstract

This research article contained 3 objectives: 1) study the management of volunteer police in Ban Phaeo District. Samut Sakhon Province, 2) study the principles of Buddhist ethics promoting the management of volunteer police in Ban Phaeo District, Samut Sakhon Province, 3) to propose guidelines for the management of volunteer police in Ban Phaeo District. Samut Sakhon province. It was qualitative research conducted by analysis of documents and interviews with 17 heads.

The research found that Guideline of integrated Buddhist administration of community police volunteers at Banphaeo district, Samut Sakhon province revealed that all volunteer police officers adhere to: (1) Management based on gratitude towards national institutions, religion, and the monarchy. Brahmavihara is conducted by willing for community’s prosperity, showing kindness for the safe and peace of community, having a selfless spirit towards the community, and maintaining trust as a mediator for problem-solving. Gharavāsadhamma includes being truthful to community, patient, restraint, no giving up, retreat, and having generosity in sharing and assisting the community as appropriate. (2) personal management based on Sangahavatthu including giving and compassionate, showing empathy towards the community, having trust as a mediator in problem-solving, being truthful towards the community, patient, and willing to share and help the community as needed. (3) Administration based on Aparihāniyadhamma principle, includes regular meetings, ending meetings together, adhering to community rules, elderly respects, avoiding discrimination and coercion against women, and participating the Buddhist activities on various occasions for effective management of volunteer police in Ban Phaeo district, Samut Sakhon province. The new knowledge gained is ‘KBGSA Model.’
