Cultural Tourism Innovation : A Case Study of Tourism in the Birthplace of Luang Pu Thuad Yiab Nam Talay Chued, Di Luang Subdistrict, Sathing Phra District, Songkhla Province

Abstract

              The purposes of this research were 1) to examine the potential of capital in the community that creates tourism innovation in the birthplace of Luang Pu Thuad Yiab Nam Talay Chued, Di Luang subdistrict, Sathing Phra district, Songkhla province.     2) to investigate management of cultural tourism innovation of the tourism group in the birthplace of Luang Pu Thuad Yiab Nam Talay Chued, Di Luang subdistrict, Sathing Phra district, Songkhla province. and 3) to study the impact and ways of promoting the development of tourism innovation in the birthplace of Luang Pu Thuad Yiab Nam Talay Chued, Di Luang subdistrict, Sathing Phra district, Songkhla province. The qualitative research was used as the research design.

              The results showed that: topography of Di Luang subdistrict is a low plain terrain with slope in which runs parallel to the coastline of the Gulf of Thailand. The west and the north areas are surrounded by rice fields. Most of the villagers are farmers. Additionally, this study shows that the major cultural capital is not only about Luang Pu Tuad but also about another four capitals which are human capital, natural resources capital, traditional, cultural, and local wisdom capital, as well as institutional or organizational capital. It concluded that these capitals have the potential to promote cultural tourism innovation. Furthermore, there are forms of management as the form of group based on the participation of many parties of cultural tourism innovations on tourism group in the birthplace of Luang Pu Thuad Yiab Nam Talay Chued. The management process consists of planning, organizing, guidance, coordinating and controlling. As for guidelines to promote the development of cultural tourism innovation such as these, the promotion of the croton trees growing along both sides of tourism route, the tourist signs for variety of tourist destinations. And also encouraging volunteer tour guides as well as promoting the creation of channels for tourism promotions including local product design. In order that to promote the tourism and attract more tourists to travel in the future.
