Model of Self-Reliant Community Management in Applying the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy to Living: The Case of Pa Daet Subdistrict, Mueang District Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

This research study the objective is to study the physical geography and social context in order to study the application of the philosophy of sufficiency economy to the lives of people in urban communities. To study the self-reliant community management model in applying the philosophy of sufficiency economy to their lives. Important informant in studying the context of physical geography and social geography the characteristics of 130 people have been determined to be domiciled and have lived in the area for at least 20 years. As for the study of applying the philosophy of sufficiency economy to life. There are 390 people who have adopted the philosophy of sufficiency economy to live their lives, and in the development of self-reliant community management models. Total number of key informants: 28 people. Tools used: document review, in-depth interviews, observation, group discussion. As for data analysis, content analysis was based on a descriptive approach.

The research results found that

1. Physical geography and social context: It was found that the Pa Daet community is an urban society with social and cultural problems. The increase in sources of vice and the deterioration of relations between neighbors environmental problems Air pollution that comes from dust and smoke from machines and vehicles. Economic aspect: lack of effective business management and standards of community products.

2. Study the application of the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy. used in the lives of the people of the urban community in Pa Daed subdistrict. It was found that community leaders play an important role in causing social, economic, and environmental changes. There is a group of people who are interested in the same topic. to create a learning resource and jointly manage community problems sustainably

3. Self-reliant community management model in applying the philosophy of sufficiency economy to the lives of the people of the urban community, Pa Daet subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai district. Chiang Mai province found that the operation in the form of a "committee" or "COMMITTEE" with 9 steps was most appropriately applied to the lives of people in urban communities and the management of self-reliant communities according to the philosophy of the Sufficiency Economy.
