Improving Condominium Management Efficiency while Raising Resident’s Quality of Life by Adopting the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy Principles

Abstract

The research aims to find a way to increase the efficiency of condominium management to develop the quality of life of residents according to the philosophy of sufficiency economy. A specific sample was selected from all 151 condominiums in Muang Chiang Mai District, resulting in 23 condominiums. Qualitative research methods were used and supported by quantitative data. Statistics used for analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

The research results found that the guidelines for increasing the efficiency of condominium management are to apply morality according to the philosophy of sufficiency economy, respectively. These include being honest (82 percent), being diligent (83.33 percent), being generous (86.67 percent), being responsible (92 percent), being fair (80 percent), and being united (90 percent). In addition to having ethics in management, residents must be encouraged to participate in management to jointly think, plan, act, and jointly inspect the work or management of the condominium manager and committee. This will help increase management efficiency and increase transparency, resulting in better quality of life for residents, leading to benefits for condominium residents. Which will be a prototype of condominiums that applied the philosophy of sufficiency economy to manage condominiums at the initial level. That is, it falls under the sufficiency economy to the level of understanding and reaching the sufficiency economy. That focuses on the happiness of residents. Along with promoting residents to participate more in management, it will result in sustainable condominium management, with the goal of overall happiness of residents as the main priority.
