Perception of Political Rights: A Case Study of Senior High School Students at Mae Taeng School, Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province

Abstract
This research aimed to investigate the level of political rights perception among senior high school students at Mae Taeng School, Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai province and compare the levels of political rights perception among these students. The sample consisted of 197 senior high school students from Mae Taeng School. This quantitative study employed stratified random sampling proportionate to the population and simple random sampling. A questionnaire was used for data collection. Statistical analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-tests, and F-tests.
The results revealed that the overall level of political rights perception among the students was moderate (Mean=2.26, SD=0.36). When considering specific aspects, students showed a high level of perception regarding voting rights (Mean=2.37, SD=0.38), followed by moderate levels of perception concerning rights to political expression and access to information (Mean=2.27, SD=0.43 and Mean=2.15, SD=0.46, respectively). Furthermore, comparative analysis indicated that gender and age were not significantly associated with political rights perception. However, academic program, grade level, and political news consumption were significantly associated with political rights perception (p<.05).
