Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aims to 1) study the behavior of Cambodian tourists in Surin Province, 2) examine the service marketing mix for Cambodian tourists in Surin Province, and 3) propose guidelines for tourism service marketing management for Cambodian tourists in Surin Province. This study employed a mixed-methods research approach combining quantitative and qualitative research methods, utilizing questionnaires and interviews as research instruments, including the mean and standard deviation. Quantitative data were collected from 379 Cambodian tourists visiting Surin Province through purposive sampling, with data analysis conducted using descriptive statistics. Qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews with 10 tourism business operators in Surin Province and 10 tourism representatives in Surin Province, selected through purposive sampling, and analyzed using content analysis.
The research found that 1) Regarding Cambodian tourist behavior, the majority had medical tourism as their primary objective, traveling by tour company vehicles as families, staying for one night, with expenditures ranging from 5,000-10,000 baht per trip, traveling 2-3 times per year, and typically allocating time for sightseeing and selecting products and services based on recommendations from close acquaintances. 2) The study of tourism service marketing mix showed high levels across all dimensions as tourism products and personnel had the highest mean scores ( = 4.10), followed by distribution channels (
= 4.07), physical evidence (
= 4.05), price (
= 4.01), service processes (
= 3.98), and promotion (
= 3.97), respectively. 3) The proposed guidelines for tourism service marketing management require mechanisms that connect business operators with Cambodian tourists through collaboration partnerships and networking among government/private sector agencies and tourism business operators via an "Intermediary" system comprising individuals with marketing promotion expertise, who serve as connectors and coordinators for tourism businesses to facilitate services for Cambodian tourists in Surin Province.
