Abstract

Graphic design for communication is nothing short of imaginative. Designers require creativity and practicability. The graphic design "Both sides of the Phasi Charoen Canal" to communicate community identity through the wall painting at Soi Petchkasem 27, Phasi Charoen District, Bangkok. The objective is to study and collect local identity information on both sides of the Phasi Charoen Canal and use it as a reference in the wall painting activity of Soi Petchkasem 27, Phasi Charoen District, Bangkok.


The results showed that 5 residents in the community wanted to communicate about 12 issue : (1) morning alms-giving activities (2) mass transit BTS and MRT (3) kindergarten-university schools (4) restaurants both sides of the Phasi Charoen canal (5) Markets - floating markets in the community (6) Temple architecture (7) Local culture and traditions (8) Occupation of the villagers (9) Reconciliation Harmony in the community (10) abundant nature (11) concept of self-sufficiency and (12) happiness of people in the community.


The researcher therefore proceeded to create the graphic design "Both sides of the Phasi Charoen Canal" to communicate community identity through the wall painting at Soi Petchkasem 27, Phasi Charoen District, Bangkok It was found that 100 people in the sample group were satisfied with their work in 6 issues with mean values ​​(Mean :  ), details as follows.


  • The aesthetics, the use of lines and colors in the design are average level = 4.73

  • Contemporary, consistent with daily life with an average level of = 4.57

  • Expressions of identity, unity, attractiveness were averaged = 4.49

  • Local and community content presentations averaged level = 4.56

  • The benefits to the Wat Ang Kaew community were averaged at the level = 4.82

  • Emphasis and prioritization with level mean = 4.38

The graphic design essay "Both sides of the Phasi Charoen Canal" to communicate the identity of the community through wall painting at Soi Petchkasem 27, Phasi Charoen District, Bangkok through the mural painting at Soi Petchkasem 27, Phasi Charoen District, Bangkok very well. This activity is part of the Aomsin Yuwaphat Rakthin Project Year 2022 (Siam University), which is a response to improving the scenery, making the community at Soi Petchkasem 27, Phasicharoen District, Bangkok able to impress tourists and the general public as well
