The Traditional techniques to play the Role of SamingNakoninn in The story of Rachathirat in The Lakhon Phanthang Performances.

Abstract

The results showed that, SamingNakoninn is the major character who is courageous, loyal, and values dignity. Therefore, the performer who plays the role of SamingNakoninn must possess these skills: 1. Dance style,which isthe interpretative dance expressing lament, courtship, movement, and dance with weapons. The dance is performed using Thai royal dance tradition, Mon traditional music, and natural gestures; 2.Mon accent conversation; 3. Facial expressions of 6 emotions: love, sneer, courage, fidelity, pride, and sadness. From the dance styles and expressions mentioned above, two dance characteristics can be concluded: dance patterns, especially one with short sword and bent knees, and the unique costume of SamingNakoninn.
