Abstract

The research article titled “The study of glitch in digital media for create artworks” is the study of the mistakes that were caused by digital system and the format of artwork creation from the failure of digital media in various formats, as well as the study of sources of the arts that were originated from the failure in digital media, from contemporary artworks in order to reference in the research. This artwork creation in interactive art format by utilizing multimedia that affects perception of the viewer directly was served as the measuring tool in this research. The viewer was the variable that caused the change on the artwork from the mistake of signal transmission which was taken place from the diversified distances of the artwork viewing by the viewer. Hence, the author examined by setting the distance between the artwork and the viewer in ten different testing distances. The first testing distance was started at 200 centimeters. Then, the viewer moved closer to the artwork by 20 centimeters in each of the next distance. Until the viewer reached at 20 centimeters. This experiment showed that there was the refractions of image wave and sound wave that built the viewer’s conscious as well as query regarding the disturbance signal which was the expected results that the author hypothesized. Consequently, this body of knowledge could be extended for further study and creation of artworks.
