Creating and Developing the Character in the Novel to Performance Space on a Theatre Mixed Film Production, A Case Study of the Main Character "She" in the performance titled "Praeng"

Abstract

This article presents the creation process and development of the character "She" who is the main character in a theater mixed film titled "Intersection". The process is divided into 3 main phases as follows: 1. Studying and analyzing the characters from the original novels. 2. Creation and development of the character "She" through the devising process. 3. Characters are presented through performances in theater and movie spaces. The results found that using the truth of the characters from the original novels as a core to experiment, explore, create and develop characters can enable actors to compare and connect their experiences with the original characters. Then create new characters to be presented through the acting space in both the theater and the movie to be natural, believable, and able to communicate the story’s main point to the audience.
