Study and Development Applies Products from Cotton Hand Made to Products Design, Case Study : The Cotton Hand Weaving Groups at Donluang Village, Amphur Pasang, Lamphun Province.

This research paper is aimed at the study and development
ofhand wovencottonused to develop innovative products,as wellas
promoting local handicrafts to increase the product range, increase
revenue and form a functional model for development and further

ideas about the synergies between the communities involved in
production. The field of study for this research is the cotton weaving
village of Bahn Don Luang, district PaSang, Lamphun Province.
This research was conducted with the model completed
onsite and the product transferred from the weaving community
at Bahn Don Luang and its neighborhood (Lamphun and Chiang Mai
Provinces).This included aninterview about theneedsand properties
of the product models from the groups of sellers, producers and
suppliers from the cotton weavers of Bahn Don Luang, in order that
the information and results could be taken and used to further
the development of the set targets and requirementsof modern day
society. Image planning theory and the design trends were used to
help analyzeand develop products.Theresearchresultsof the design
and development can be categorized into 2 groups. These include
the design and development of the soft cotton product range
(children’s clothing) which has 25 designs; then there is the ladies
hand bag range with another 25 designs. The results found from
the interviews is that the scope of designs must use the natural
attributes or the handicrafts are unique to the local cultural art;
use local materials and production methods, genuinely produced
using quality thread appropriate to local materials; be beautiful,
interesting and have unique eye catching designs.
The results of the collection of the data from the field study
interviews used to conduct this research on the opinions and
satisfaction (4P)of the products transferred from cotton weaving that
had beenalready developed and designed found that the350 people
which madeup thesamplegroup had a positiveattitudetoahighlevelabout the product range ( = 4.27). The issues the sample group
agreed about the most include that the handwoven cotton products
could be used to further develop design and patterns in the future
( = 4.41). Dropping down another 4 ratings the hand woven cotton
products reflected that the development of the original product had
increased its value ( = 4.37). The handwoven cotton products had
form and function that is both beautiful and attractive / and they
are produced using original local techniques to create new products
( = 4.35).Thehandwovencotton productsareableto be developed
intoa product that canclearly increase the valueof the economy for
thecommunity( = 4.33).The productsatisfactionthatthehandwoven
cottongoodshashad and innovative designthathas beencompletely
freshly and innovatively designed from the research had the highest
rating level of (8.23 from 10 points).
