Abstract

Animal Exercise is widely used in training actors and creating characters. From my experience in training the actors, the difficulty occurs during the merging between the animal’s character and the play’s character. This article presents my experience in modification and suggestions which assist the actors to clear and refine the characters. Etienne Decroux’s Isolation technique can increase the precision and the flexibility in imitating the animal’s structure, body mechanic, and movement. Moreover, it benefits the actors in terms of creating harmony in the work between body, mind, and movement
