Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) To study the management condition of
aircraft maintenance. 2) To study the management levels of good governance. 3) To
create strategic application of good governance’s principles in the management of
aircraft maintenance, U-Tapao Overhaul, Thai Airways International Public Co, Ltd. It
was both quantitative and qualitative research. Subjects in the quantitative research
were 253 employees of aircraft maintenance, U-Tapao Overhaul, Thai Airways
International Public Co, Ltd. The research instrument used in the quantitative research
was a questionnaire, while in the qualitative research, the researcher divided subjects
into two groups: 1) a management group at policy level; and 2) a group of staff
applying the policy to practice. Subjects in the qualitative research were 18 employees.
Research instruments included a document study, information technology, in-depth
interview, participative observation and non-participative observation. A computer
program was used for quantitative analysis and content analysis was used for
qualitative analysis. This research found that the strategic application of good
governance’s principles in management of the company was a strategy that derived
from the company assessment on the management. It was based on the seven
dimensions of theoretical process management called POSDCORB and then analized
the management with the six good governance principle to create company strategies.
They were as follows: 1) rule of law 2) integrity 3) transparency 4) participation
5) accountability 6) economy.
