The Guidelines Developing Quality of Internal Supervision Administration at Thesaban 1 School (Bankao), Phan District, Chiang Rai

The objectives of this study were: 1) to examine the internal supervision circumstance of Thesaban 1 School (Bankao); 2) to investigate the desired future scenario in developing the quality of internal supervision administration of Thesaban 1 School (Bankao); 3) to propose the guidelines developing the internal supervision administration of Thesaban 1 School (Bankao). The samples were 42 participants including 1 school administrator, 1 educational scholar, 33 teachers, 6 school committee members, 1 parents of students at Thesaban 1 School (Bankao).The research instrument was 5-rating scale questionnaire, interview, and focus-group discussion. The data was analysed by mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. The results showed that: 1. The internal supervision of Thesaban 1 School (Bankao), in overall and all aspects, was rated at the high level except that of construction and using media in teaching, assessment and evaluation were rated at the moderate level. The internal supervision management based on PIDRE was found implemented at the high level in all aspects due to the fact that school administrators, teachers, school committee members, community, parents paid attention on internal supervision that covered planning, monitoring, examining, evaluating, improving, and developing consistently and systematically. 2. The desired future scenario in developing the quality of internal supervision administration of Thesaban1 School (Bankao) revealed that the school showed development of school curriculum annually, evaluation of curriculum implementation, development of learners for higher academic achievement consistently, teachers showing systematic teaching management, student-centered instructional management, handbook for internal supervision for information sharing with stakeholders, teachers showing construction of quality instructional media consistent with the lesson plan at least 1 media per month. The school provided variety of learning resources existing inside and outside the school. The teachers should employ assessment and evaluation related to the teaching and curriculum objectives. And, teachers should use the evaluation results to analyze student’s problems individually. 3. The guidelines developing the quality of internal supervision administration of Thesaban 1 School (Bankao) based on the focus-group discussion suggested the following. Working together to analyze the current circumstance, problems, and needs in all aspects of the school to arrive at the data for planning the internal supervision of the school. There should be the development of internal supervision planning by clearly assigning persons in charge of specific tasks, steps, and objectives. Use the evaluation results for systematic improvement. Use friendly and various internal supervision methods. Promote and support teachers to attend training, seminar, and educational visits to best practices school on internal supervision. The educational department should educate people involved with internal supervision. The school administrators should open their view to accept new thoughts from teachers and school should develop handbook, documents, media and equipment sufficient to the needs of teachers.
