Abstract

This study aims to develop strategic in school curriculum administration and management for Mathematics Learning Area underpinning the 21 Century Education of Maesaiprasitsart School. This participatory research employed participatory workshop by AIC technique and scenario planning. The workshop participants and informants were school administrators, chief of Mathematics Learning Area, Mathematics secondary level teachers, curriculum administration committees, school committee members, community representatives, and students. The data was analyzed by content analysis and summarized in narrative format. The results showed that:

The strategic guidelines in administration and management for Mathematics Learning Area underpinning the 21st Century Education of Maesaiprasitsart School required situational analysis, review and determination of vision, mission, goals, strategic issues, and determination of project plan. The strategic issues were designed covering 3 aspects i.e. (1) Quality of learners (2) School Curriculum Administration and Management Procedure (3) Learner-centeredness Instructional Process, which led to formulation of 11 strategies. Strategy 1 Develop learners’ achievement on Mathematics underlying the goals of the school and the 21st Century Education. Strategy 2 Develop quality of learners underlying O-NET achievement. Strategy 3 Develop learners to attain desirable characteristics and good values as prescribed by the school. Strategy 4 Develop school’s environment,  services and society favorable to students’ learning experience. Strategy 5 Develop learner-centeredness instructional process promoting the 21st Century Education learning skills. Strategy 6 Promote the use of technology in teaching and learning by implementing efficient assessment and evaluation. Strategy 7 Develop administration and management system promoting participation in educational administration. Strategy 8 Develop consistent internal quality assurance system. Strategy 9 Promote and improve Mathematics Learning Area Curriculum in line with the 21st Century Education. Strategy 10 Develop teachers’ instructional management competence in line with the 21st Century Education. Strategy 11 Promote teachers and educational personnel to attend training on school curriculum development.
