Improving Academic Achievement in the Subject of Social Studies, Religion, and Culture On the topic of Important Buddhist holidays and festivals, using active learning and Quizizz game Techniques for Mathayom 3 Students. SabaYoiWitthaya School, Songkhla Province

Abstract

               The objectives of this research are: 1) to develop the academic achievement on the topic of "Important Days and Festivals in Buddhism" by using Active Learning management combined with Quizizz game techniques for Grade 3 students at Sabayoiwitthaya School, Songkhla Province; and 2) to compare the academic achievement on the same topic before and after the intervention.   The sample group consisted of 30 students from Grade 3/1 during the first semester of the 2025 academic year at Sabayoiwitthaya School, selected through purposive sampling. The research followed an Action Research model using a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research instruments included: lesson plans for the Social Studies, Religion, and Culture course on "Important Days and Festivals in Buddhism" using Active Learning and Quizizz techniques, and a knowledge assessment test. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean (𝑥̄), standard deviation (S.D.), and dependent t-test.

               The results of the study were summarized as follows: 1) Mathayom 3/1 students at SabaYoi Witthaya School, Songkhla Province, demonstrated improved academic achievement in Social Studies, Religion, and Culture on important Buddhist days and festivals after using the Active Learning method combined with the Quizizz game technique. The improvement score increased by 75.37% 2) The academic achievement in Social Studies on important Buddhist days and festivals after using the Active Learning method combined with the Quizizz game technique was higher than before using the Active Learning method combined with the Quizizz game technique, with an average score increase of 4.10 points.
