The Design and Development of Media for Educating on Depression in The Elderly Ages at Pa Phayom District, Phatthalung Province

Abstract

This research aimed to design, develop, satisfaction findings and compare the level of Knowledge before and after using media to educate on depression in the elderly in Pa Phayom district, Phatthalung province. The researchers have applied the Addie Model; Molenda's concept of media production, which included analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation that has been applied with a sample of two sample groups: the focused group such as the elderly ages, health workers, nurses and production staffs as 19 samples and the evaluated group of 400 elderly ages in the Pa Phayom district. The research found that the design and development of media to educate about depression among the elderly ages will be presented the data on the occurrence of depression, depression symptoms, depression prevention, depression treatment, and attending a depression. The media should be formatted that could be tailored to the elderly's online behavior, including stickers, pictures, and video clips. There was satisfaction with the elderly ages at a very satisfactory level, and the effect of cognitive effects on knowledge and understanding after using media was statistically significant.
