PrEP + Condoms: New innovation for AIDS prevention

Abstract

PrEP (Pre-exposure prophylaxis), or antiviral drugs before exposure to HIV, is commonly known as PrEP.  It is a drug which is used for people who are not infected, or have a negative blood test, but at risk for HIV.  It is another option that can be used in conjunction with condoms for HIV prevention.  It is an integrated service pack to support the country's intentions to end AIDS by 2030, or the next 10 years.  The National Strategy on ending AIDS between 2017-2030, focusing on high-risk target groups such as men who have sex with men, male sex workers, and transgenders, who are hard to reach and have different lifestyles.  Therefore, technology must be used to help publicize and persuade these target groups to be aware of information and access services more easily.  LINE @ is considered as another aid that everyone uses in daily life, and it is a private contact for advice and reaching the target groups that lack the opportunity to access the service.  It provides clients with knowledge, awareness and behavior in taking care of, and protecting themselves from HIV infection and STDs by using PrEP, together with condom use.  This is a strategy to reduce the rate of illnesses with AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases

When this PrEP is publicized until people have awareness and information about the drug PrEP widely and able to expand the service to cover majority of target groups, it will help the target groups to come for services.  When the target groups are aware of how to protect themselves properly, It can be considered that PrEP is another tool that will help driven the AIDS strategic plan to achieve its goals.
