Article review process
Articles that are considered primarily by the editorial board of J.HPLA will be sent to experts in the relevant field.
1. The editorial team will notify the sender of the article when the editorial team receives the complete article and checks the topic, content, and print format of the article. Furthermore, we consider the conformity with the Board of J.HPLA's objectives through theoretical and practical benefits. If an article needs correction, the editorial team will return it to the authors as initially suggested. The authors must be returned within the specified period.
2. The articles are peer-reviewed by three external peer reviewers in the relevant field per article to check the quality of the article and whether it is appropriate to be published or not. In this screening process, experts will not be able to know the information about the authors. (Double-blind peer review)
3. The editorial team will decide based on the recommendations of the experts that the article should be published, or should be sent to the authors to revise before reconsideration, or denied publication.Guidelines for Authors on the Use of AI
Large Language Models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, currently do not meet our authorship criteria. In particular, authorship entails responsibility for the work, which cannot be effectively attributed to LLMs.
The use of LLMs should be properly documented in the Methods section of the manuscript. If no such section exists, it should be stated in another appropriate part of the article.
However, the use of LLMs (or other artificial intelligence tools) for the purpose of “AI-assisted copy editing” does not need to be disclosed. In this context, “AI-assisted copy editing” refers to using AI to improve text written by humans to enhance clarity, readability, and appropriate language style, as well as to eliminate errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and tone.
Such improvements may include revisions to wording and formatting, but do not extend to the automatic generation of new content or creative editorial work (generative editorial work).
In all cases, the research team remains responsible for the final version of the manuscript, and the authors must confirm that any such edits continue to faithfully reflect their original work.
