Surveillance, prevention, and control measures of COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

In Thailand, as a strict monitoring and prevention measure of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Ministry of Public Health issued important guidelines as follow: 1. Prevention measure by providing face masks, providing sufficient alcohol gel or liquid type, screening for body temperature, which must not exceed 37.5 degrees Celsius; 2. Establishing physical distancing measure, by prohibiting training meetings, seminars, and other activities in which a big crowd of people gather in one place, but if necessary, using of an online system, or webinar instead, or arranging for seating to be 1 meter apart; 3. Closing of offices, in case if someone is diagnosed with coronavirus infection.  Since Covid-19 is a highly contagious and life threatening disease, it is a situation affecting public order and safety, which requires strict and urgent measures to control and prevent spreading of the disease. Panic situation causes hoarding of goods by the people, therefore, the state of emergency has been declared in every area throughout the Kingdom of Thailand.  The COVID-19 epidemic has created a new way of daily living (New Normal), resulting from situations where many people have to adjust their behaviors
