Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and Solution to the Problem Act, B.E. 2559

Abstract

This law was created to prevent and solve the problem of adolescent pregnancy. The definition of an adolescent under this law is a person who has completed ten years of age but has not completed twenty years of age. This pregnancy problem in Thailand affects all levels and the problem is so complex that it cannot be solved by the authority of any single agency alone. Therefore, it is necessary to create a mechanism for setting policies, strategies, and joint operations of relevant agencies, including government, private, and civil society. This law establishes the rights of adolescents having access to information, knowledge. and reproductive health services, which all relevant sectors must implement by law.  Thus, preventing and solving the problem of adolescent pregnancy in a comprehensive way. But it may not include women in other age groups.
