Abstract

In this research, the researcher studies the effects of transformational leadership on organizational learning culture, employee engagement and effective teams. The researcher also examines the effects of organizational learning culture on employee engagement and effective teams. Furthermore, finally, the researcher investigates the effects of employee engagement on effective teams. In the quantitative phase of this research, a sample population of 620 subjects was selected from employees at large five Thai commercial banks. A questionnaire was used as a research instrument for collecting germane data from the members of the sample population. The data were processed using a computer software program employing applications of the structural equation modeling (SEM) method. In the qualitative phase of this research, data were collected by means of interviews. These data were employed to supplement the discussion of research findings.

Findings are as follows: Transformational leadership positively influenced organizational learning culture, employee engagement and effective teams. Organizational learning culture showed positive effects on employee engagement and effective teams. Moreover, employee engagement manifested positive effects on effective teams. In conclusion, the findings showed that the factor exerting effects on effective teams at the highest level was employee engagement. Nevertheless, paying attention to the single factor of effective teams does not suffice. Other factors must be considered together alongside the factor of effective teams in order to bring about maximally beneficial results.
