The Trend of Expanding Electric Cars in Thailand
Keywords:

Nowadays, the rate of human using cars is increasing every year. The reason is that car companies do marketing and set suitable price to reach consumers in all levels of income. Moreover, having a private car is also very comfortable and personal, so many consumers choose to buy cars instead of other types of vehicles. But the combustion of car fuel is one factor that pollutes the air and is a factor that causes global warming. Therefore, when people use more cars, it will worsen the pollution as well. For this reason, many countries have been planning policies to support the development of electric car technology by replacing fossil fuel-based cars. Later, car producers found that fossil fuels are likely to run out so they began to use alternative source of energy by developing electric car technology which are Battery Electric Vehicle (BEVs), hybrid (HEVs), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEVs) and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEVs). These four types of electric vehicles are environmentally friendly technology and can reduce the use of fossil fuels. Thus, Thailand, with the cooperation and support from both government and private sectors, needs to set a policy to develop electric vehicle technology in order to expand, promote and support Thailand’s use of electric vehicle.
