National Smart Grid Strategy for Energy Management System in Smart City

Abstract

Smart city development that is in line with the direction of Thailand 4.0, The 20-year National Strategy and the Master Plans under the National Strategy are characterized by 7 areas of development, which are smart environment, smart economy, smart mobility, smart energy, smart people, smart living, and smart governance. As electrical system is one of the key infrastructures because devices and technologies rely heavily on electricity, so it can be said that improving the electricity infrastructure to a smart grid can be an important base for applying technologies to improve the city to a smart city. According to the analysis, smart grid technology can help achieve the seven objectives of smart cities directly and indirectly and can also be a part to help Thailand achieve the second target of the national strategy in term of Thailand's competitiveness increasing.
