Guidelines for improving the quality of life of industrial workers in the automotive and parts industry: a case study in the central region of Thailand

Abstract

          This research aimed to 1) study problems in quality of life of industrial workers in the auto parts industry in central Thailand 2) propose guidelines for labor management for quality of life of industrial workers in automotive industry in central Thailand. This research is qualitative research by content analysis from an in-depth interview with 17 experts whose qualification are considered from knowledge, skills and experiences to match the objective of this research. The experts are from public sectors private sectors and private sector executives. The results of the research are 1) problems at work are found to be labor protection, occupational safety, welfare, labor relations and development, 2) entrepreneurs should aware of the importance of labor’s quality of life, 3) public sectors should monitor and enforce laws of establishments to create a good, safety, and stable working environment for workers, and 4) participatory management in workplace among employers and employees must consider mutual benefits and develop their potential to conform with economic requirements to increase competitiveness.
