Abstract

          The purpose of this research was to present a model of small school merging in Nakhon Sawan Primary Education Service Area Office 3 (Nakhon Sawan PESAO 3). The sample group of 55 people consisted of school administrators, teachers, students, and stakeholders, selected by purposive sampling. The research method consisted of two steps. First, lesson learned from the management process of small school merging; by studying the document report and interviewing 22 directors from both main school and small school which were merged. The tools used were interview and questionnaire which had the reliability of 0.83. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, average, and standard deviation. The second step was the presentation of small school merging and the evaluation of small school merging formats. The informants were 9 experts who were purposively selected. The tool used was the evaluation form of small school merging formats. The statistics used were average, and standard deviation.


          The results of this study were as the followings. 1) The lesson-learned of the successes of small schools merging showed that in the aspect of learner, students had higher learning achievement, had opportunity to learn in all learning areas, had good interactions with classmates, and were happier in learning. In the aspect of teacher, there were sufficient teachers of classroom teaching. They were able to instruct on their own majors, capabilities, aptitudes and were happier  working. In school administration aspect, small schools which were merged had more flexibility in school administration, and the stakeholders satisfied with education management of main schools. 2) The model of small schools merging, which had two formats, had the appropriateness at high level (=4.37, S.D.=0.70).
