Language strategies in discourse to persuade “Right and Freedom” from the Expecting Fairy Tale Series, National Reading Project by the Mirror Foundation

Abstract
The qualitative research with descriptive analysis purposes to study the use of language strategies in discourse to persuade “right and freedom” from the Series on Expecting Fairy Tales, National Reading Project by the Mirror Foundation. The data used in this study were purposively selected from 7 volumes of Series No. 1, Tonkla Fah Mai, 2021, which is the Series on Expecting Fairy Tales, National Reading Project by the Mirror Foundation. The contents focus on the expression of ideas on right and freedom. In particular, it is the use of language to achieve certain objectives. The Linguistic Strategies in Discourse (Ungkhaphanij, 2019) were used to analyze persuasive linguistic strategies. The results showed that persuasive language strategies on “right and freedom” from the Expecting Fairy Tales Series, National Reading Project by the Mirror Foundation include: 1) lexical choices, 2) Negation, 3) Presuppositions, 4) rhetorical questions, and 5) metaphor. This regards two important functions in persuasion: 1) cultivating the idea of right and freedom, and 2) teaching knowledge of collaboration to complete a task successfully.
