Changes impacting the management of vocational education in Thailand

Abstract
This academic article aims to study and present the situation of Thai vocational education in the amidst of rapid and continuous global changes, following the phenomenon of the world turning around (BANI World). The study applies the PDCA quality management cycle as a conceptual framework and employs document analysis to investigate societal transformations, their impacts on education, coping strategies, and management guidelines for vocational education in Thailand.
The study results on coping with changing situations to transform Thai vocational education toward a better direction revealed that education is a key component and essential tool for addressing challenges in the management of vocational education. This is achieved through the teaching and learning process, which emphasizes four critical elements: learners, teachers, curriculum and instructional management, and administration. Recommendations from the study include: (1) promoting thinking skills and systematic work performance among vocational learners through the PDCA quality management cycle, and (2) applying the PDCA cycle in the development of innovative teaching and learning management models.
