USING FLIPPED CLASSROOM IN TEACHING ENGLISH IN TERTIARY LEVEL

Abstract

This article presents the approach of English instruction through flipped classroom in tertiary education level. It is based on the learner-centered concept. This teaching approach uses modern technology as part of the learning process. The author presents the use of flipped classroom in management of English instruction. He found that the learners were satisfied with their learning, were more committed to English language learning, had good attitude toward English language learning, and had more interaction with the teacher and other learners. This approach proves to be up-to-date and creates sustainable learning. It also can be applied in instructional management of other subjects. Flipped classroom is an efficient way of English teaching and therefore more sustainable. We can also apply this to other subjects.
