Land Use Patterns and Changing Trends in Kanchanaburi Limestone Community Forest

Abstract

The objectives of this research article were: 1) to study the distribution of Kanchanaburi limestone community forest; 2) to study land use patterns and changing trends of Kanchanaburi limestone community forest; and 3) to compare the land use change of Kanchanaburi limestone community forest. This study used the Geoinfomatics research methodology in Remote Sensing concept process. Research findings indicated that; 1) the distribution from the community forest in Kanchanaburi 93 plots and distributed on the limestone community forest about 10 plots; 2) land use patterns around the Kanchanaburi limestone community forest found the three case studies and there were different changing trends. There were a growing tendency to grow commercial crops in the community forests of Ban Chongkab Samakhee, a tendency for the growing of perennials and fruit trees plant in the community forests of Sahakon Nikom, and a tendency for miscellaneous and commercial areas in the community forests of Ban Tha Kradan; and 3) the land use trends in Kanchanaburi limestone community forest had slightly change due to the economic factors and the management of community forest resources factors.
