Abstract

             The purposes of this independent study were to study the effect of using learning activities that integrated with YouTube in order to increase students' motivation within the music class.  Participants were selected by using a random sampling in which there were 26 third-year middle school students who were studying in the second semester in Kasetsart University Laboratory school in the multilingual program. The research tools are (1) the student motivation questionnaires, (2) lesson plan that contained learning music activities that integrated YouTube, and (3) student music skill evaluation forms.            

             The result showed that the activities that integrated YouTube had affected student learning motivation in the music class at the high level. Students, who were participants, were satisfied with the learning activities and they all agreed that features of YouTube that allowed other users to upload video, following the video, and wrote comment were key factors that made them have realized and considered before published their own video clips into the Internet. In addition, most of students agreed learning activities motivated them and also increased their attention in practicing their music skills which leaded them to have a better music performance in the class.
