Development of a learning management plan for the subject of Principle of Mathematics on Methods of Proof Using advance organizer presentation and Think-pair-share Learning for 1st year Students
Keywords:
advance organizer model, think-pair-share learning, Methods of Proof, reasoning skillsAbstract
This Quasi-Experimental research aimed to 1) evaluate the effectiveness of a learning management plan on Methods of Proof using advance organizer presentation and think-pair-share learning on the 70/70 criterion 2) compare the students' reasoning skills with the 70% criterion and 3) compare the academic achievement with the 70% criterion. The target group is 28 first-year students from the Faculty of Education, Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University, who registered for Principle of Mathematics course in the first semester of the 2023 academic year. The research instruments consisted of 1) 3 learning management plans, 2) 15-item reasoning skill test, and 3) 6-item achievement test. Data were analyzed using percentages, means, standard deviations and t-test for one sample.
The research results found that 1) the learning management plan had an efficiency of 77.56/72.58, higher than the 70/70 criterion; 2) reasoning skills were at 75.12 percent, higher than the 70 percent criterion with statistically significant at the .05 level; and 3) academic achievement test was at 72.58 percent, higher than the 70 percent criterion with statistically significant at the .05 level
