The Development of Instructional Model to Enhancing Language Wisdom Learning for Undergraduate Students

Abstract

            The purposes of this research were to 1) develop of instructional model to enhance language wisdom learning for undergraduate students, and 2) study the effectiveness of instructional model to enhance language wisdom learning for undergraduate students. The samples used in this study were 34 students’ Thai language subject of Faculty of Education at Ramkhamhaeng University studying in CTH3108 wisdom in language and teaching in semester 2 academic year 2021. The research instruments were, 1) instructional model to enhance language wisdom learning 2) handbook of instructional model 3) lesson plans of instructional model to enhance language wisdom learning 4) creative problem-solving ability tests 5) learning achievement test 6) attitude to language wisdom test 7) questionnaire and 8) journal writing. The data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, t-test for dependent and content analysis.


        The research findings were; 1. The instructional model to enhance language wisdom learning for undergraduate students consists of four components were; 1) Principle 2) Objective 3) Instructional model activities consisting of 5 steps, were; (i) Search; (ii) Combine; (iii) Collect; (iv) Construct; and (v) Conscious and 4) Evaluation. 2. The effectiveness of using instructional model revealed that; 2.1) Undergraduate students’ learning achievement after the intervention was higher before with statistically significance at the .05 level, 2.2) Undergraduate students creative problem-solving abilities after the intervention was higher before with statistically significance at the .05 level, 2.3) Undergraduate students’ attitude to language wisdom after the intervention was higher before with statistically significance at the .05 level, 2.4) Undergraduate students’ opinions toward instructional model to enhance language wisdom learning for undergraduate students in overall was at the high level.
