The Development of Social Innovation in Promoting Community Tourism to Develop the Grassroots Economy in Takhli Subdistrict Takhli District, Nakhon Sawan Province

Abstract

         The purpose of research article were 1) to study the community context and community potential in promoting community tourism in Takhli Sub-district. 2) to study the development of social innovation in promoting community tourism to development the grassroots economy of Takhli Sub-district and 3) to disseminate social innovation in promoting Community tourism to development the grassroots economy of Takhli Sub-district. This research was a qualitative research, Interview and focus group discussions were used with purposive selection of 30 stakeholders.


          The results of this research found that: the Takhli sub-district community has spanning over 100 years, there is important events such as the royal visit of His Majestythe King Chanakathibet Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great Borommanat Bophitara at Ban Takhli sush as establishment of a military base for the United States of America during the Vietnam War. These result is changed in the community's economy, society, culture, and potential to promoting community tourism; "Taste, Shop, Snap, and Stay". The unique food made from local ingredients, wisdom and places (tourism and accommodation) has been organized as a travel guide of Takhli Sub-district with the participation of network partners, community leaders, citizens, entrepreneurs, Takhli Municipality, and the mass media. The developing social innovation in promoting Community tourism as the development of the people to become senior tour guides with “Story telling” skills and “One Day Trip” routes simulation. The development of community’s food products and souvenir products to promotes the communities and localities to generate income. The production of creative and safe media such as line stickers, video media, and social marketing channels and including the dissemination of social innovations in promoting community tourism to develop the grassroots economy of Takhli Sub-district for youth in the role of little tour guides.
